Q & A
What does consultation look like?
Consultation helps to identify what is needed and what to do about it. For parents/families, this could be helping to understand the I.E.P. process, attend a meeting with you, or helping to identify some areas at home/community to work on. For teachers, consultation is provided to support a client/staff team that is looking to work on successful strategies for skill building, behavior management, and other effective methodologies.
What does supervision look like?
Supervision should be motivating, not stressful. Each meeting, you will be provided a research article and a predetermined set of terms (from the BACB Task List) to review with your supervisor. This ensures research from the field and content from the task list is applied to your daily practice at each meeting. Building fluency through repetition and practice will also build confidence so that you will pass the Board exam.
